The editorial board of Annals of Forest Science, published by Springer, has recognized the work of researcher Jitka Janová from the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Mendel University, as one of the two most significant contributions of the past year. Her article "The role of validation in optimization models for forest management" has thus been ranked among the top publications in the field of forestry for 2024. More information here
Student Richard Kovárník Awarded the MENDELU PhD Talent Scholarship

Ing. Richard Kovárník, a PhD student at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Business and Economics, has been awarded the MENDELU PhD Talent Scholarship under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Janová. His research titled “Automation in Forest Management: Micro-data Valuation of Forest Culture Ecosystem Services” brings new insights into the valuation of ecosystem services provided by forest cultures.
